After 20 Years of Work: You’re Not Starting Over
“I can’t start over at this stage in my life” — a sentence often spoken by people with over 20 years of professional experience.
In our careers, we only start from the beginning once in a lifetime — if even then.
Every next time, we start from experience.
If you decide to pursue something new after 20 years of professional experience — you’re not starting from zero. You’re starting with
20 years of professional experience + at least 40 years of life experience.
Minimum 40 godina iskustva u:
⭐ Komunikaciji sa ljudima
⭐ Upravljanju novcem
⭐ Upravljanju sobom
⭐ Upravljanju ljudima
⭐ Toleranciji
⭐ Postavljanju granica
⭐ Prevazilaženju prepreka
⭐ Slušanju, posmatranju, padanju, ustajanju…
Do you still think it’s possible to find yourself at the beginning?
I don’t think it is.
And no — you don’t need another certificate, a diploma, another year of experience, or the approval of a family member.
Jedino što ti treba je odluka da:
😎 staneš iza sebe
😵 ne razmišljaš o tome šta će drugi reći
🙉 ignorišeš stav najbližeg okruženja o svojoj odluci
If you can’t do that, then yes — it’s possible you still don’t have enough life experience, because:
- Other people are not thinking about you — everyone is thinking about themselves. They see themselves in you. Positive and successful people will see your potential. The rest don’t matter.
- Your closest environment is afraid for themselves, not for you. Your change subconsciously (this is important to understand to avoid conflict) reminds them of what they didn’t dare to do — and again, subconsciously, they don’t want anyone to prove that things can be different, better, easier, more joyful.
🤎 They do love you — and when you succeed, they will be happy for you. Until then, you may need to ignore them at times.
So don’t be afraid — whether the change comes by your choice or not
